Some tips and tricks for getting your broadband is up to speed...
A fast and reliable broadband connection is vital for a successful tutoring session.

A network that can comfortably support an online game or stream a UHD movie from the iPlayer or Netflix will be fast enough for video calling; however, there might be issues if trying all of these at once.​
Speedtest.net tells you all you need to know about your signal strength. Less that 20Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds could be problematic, particularly if several devices are using the connection.
Things to consider
Where is your router?
Router signals are far stronger than they used to be, but probably not strong enough to overcome being placed in a cupboard or behind the TV. It also matters how far your device is from the router, and what the the walls of your home are made from.

Is your router properly configured?
All modern routers have use two frequencies. The 2.4GHz signal travels further and is harder to block, but is much slower than the 5GHz. If possible, your device should be connected to the 5GHz signal. Most routers use it by default, but if your connection isn't what you were expecting this this might be the cause. i
Do you need a boost?
Unfortunately 5GHz signal is easily blocked by walls and ceilings. Possible solutions here can include signal boosters or even powerline adaptors. However, if in doubt it's best to consult your broadband supplier for assistance.
